Much better than dirt!
This past weekend we finished building our patio and put in a partial lawn! 
We also put up a new ceiling fan in our bedroom (and blew a circuit, had to have my brother, an electrician, come fix it. Eek.)
This next weekend we plan on putting in the rest of our lawn and a wheelchair friendly walkway that matches the patio from our place to Mom & Dad’s. We have other plans too: drip systems in the courtyard and orchard. Then we’ll be out of money and it’ll be too hot to do anything serious for a while. (Thank goodness! Ha.)
I’ve allowed myself 6-8′ planting beds all around the lawn area, so from now until the end of days I’ll be planting, but planting is oh so much more enjoyable than laying 20lb tiles on my hands and knees. A cake walk. 
We’ve been hard at work on projects around the property for so long that I’ve really come to neglect this blog- but we’ll be out of big projects here soon, then I’ll be back- with pretty pictures! Until then, I’ve been documenting our progress with my iPhone and you can see what we’re up to on my flickr stream.
